Terms of Service
LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED. This is a draft that describes how Huddle works today. It has not been reviewed by an attorney and is not yet in force.
Version 0.2 · Not yet in effect · Updated 2026-10-24
1. About these Terms
These Terms govern your use of Huddle, a live team trivia service for TVs and phones, including Creator Studio, Huddle Live, Discover and related pages (the "Service"). By creating an account, hosting a game, publishing content or otherwise using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Players who only join a game with a team name are also covered by sections 4, 7, 8, 10 and 11.
2. Who can use Huddle
- Accounts are for people 18 or older (or the age of majority where they live). A parent, teacher or other adult can host games for younger players and is responsible for them.
- Players join without an account. See the Privacy Policy for what is collected.
- You must give accurate sign-up information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- An account can belong to an organization, the account workspace for a business or group. Owners decide who else can manage it. Organization roles are separate from player teams and the host of a game. A venue is a physical business location.
3. Venues and hosts
If you run Huddle in a bar, restaurant, school, workplace or other room, you are responsible for:
- the room, your guests and the people you let host;
- choosing games that suit your audience (games carry an audience rating, but you decide);
- any prizes, promotions, drinks specials or entry rules you add, and the laws that apply to them. Huddle does not run prizes or promotions. If you use Venue Prizes, Huddle only displays the prizes you enter: you are responsible for their accuracy, availability, eligibility, redemption, taxes where they apply, any required terms, your sponsors' permission, and the images and logos you add. Huddle does not supply, fulfil or guarantee prizes, decide who is legally eligible, or sponsor your promotion [LEGAL REVIEW REQUIRED];
- music, venue licences and any permits your venue needs;
- following the Content Guidelines and Competition rules.
4. Acceptable use and fair play
Don't use the Service to break the law, harass people, post prohibited content (see the Content Guidelines), cheat or manipulate results, run multiple teams to game a result, probe or attack the Service, scrape it at scale, or interfere with other people's games. Hosts may remove teams. We may moderate, rate-limit, suspend or remove anything that breaks these rules.
5. Your content
"Your content" is the packs, questions, media links, branding, team names and anything else you add.
- You own it. You keep your rights in your content.
- You give us a licence to host, store, copy, display, adapt (for example to reformat or check it) and run it as needed to provide the Service, including showing it to players in your games, to people you share it with and, if you publish it, in Discover.
- You promise you have the rights to everything you add, including media you link to and any text, images, audio or data you upload or paste, and that it doesn't infringe or break the law or the Content Guidelines.
- Remixes and copies keep a link to their source. A copy or remix is private to your organization and doesn't include the right to resell, list it in Discover or be paid for it.
- Buying or using a pack doesn't transfer ownership of the underlying content unless the listing says so explicitly.
6. AI-generated content
Some features use AI providers to draft questions or checks. AI output can be wrong, biased, out of date or similar to existing material. It isn't guaranteed to be accurate, original or free of third-party rights. You must review AI-generated content before you host or publish it, and you are responsible for what you use. Pack Check and automated checks are aids. They are not legal approval, a rights clearance or a guarantee of accuracy.
7. Intellectual property
Huddle, its software, branding, artwork and built-in games belong to Huddle or its licensors. You may use them through the Service but may not copy, resell or reverse engineer them. Report copyright concerns through the Copyright and takedown page.
8. Moderation, suspension and termination
We may review content, remove or suspend packs, and suspend or end accounts that break these Terms or the Content Guidelines, put people at risk, or create legal risk. Where we reasonably can we'll say why. You can stop using the Service at any time. Where you are able to, you can export your packs and delete your games and reports.
9. Subscriptions, billing and marketplace
Billing is not live. Huddle takes no payments today. Before any charge begins we will publish plans, prices, trial, renewal, cancellation and refund terms, and show them again at checkout. Marketplace sales and creator payouts aren't offered. If they launch, seller terms, tax responsibilities and payout rules will be added here before they apply. Nothing in the Service today is an offer to sell.
10. Service availability and changes
The Service is provided as available. It can be interrupted by maintenance, outages, your network, your devices or third parties. We may change, add or remove features. Features marked as optional or off by default may not be available to every Huddle. Plan or feature changes that affect paying customers will be notified in advance.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, such as hosting, sign-in and database services, AI providers, and media or web links you add. Their terms and availability apply to what they provide. We aren't responsible for third-party content you link to.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that questions are correct, that games will be uninterrupted or error free, or that results are suitable for any particular decision. Study features are for practice and don't promise results.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Huddle isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data or business interruption, and its total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (or a small fixed amount if you paid nothing). Some places don't allow some of these limits.
14. Indemnity
You'll defend and compensate Huddle against claims and costs arising from your content, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or your venue's events and promotions, to the extent the law allows.
15. Disputes and governing law
[GOVERNING LAW, VENUE AND DISPUTE PROCESS: to be set by counsel.]
16. Changes to these Terms
We'll update the version and date at the top when these Terms change, and tell account holders about material changes before they apply. Using the Service afterwards means you accept the new Terms.
17. Contact
Questions about these Terms: see Copyright and contact.
